What an incredible milestone!
Iβm thrilled to announce that two outstanding researchers from our lab β Siavash Davoodi (carbon capture and utilisation) and Zubaer Hosen (feed supplement for cattle methane reduction)β have successfully submitted their PhD theses back-to-back. This is a huge achievement not just for them, but for the entire team at the Global Centre for Environmental Remediation (GCER) and crcCARE.

Their dedication, creativity, and hard work have been truly inspiring. Cheers to both of you! π₯ We canβt wait to see your hard work transformed into high-impact publications very soon.
Pushing the Boundaries of Applied Clay Science
Their research has made significant multidisciplinary contributions to applied clay science, with exciting applications in:
- Resource utilisation
- Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU)
- Development of edible cattle feed
- Methane emission mitigation
- Rumen microbiome health
- Nutritional enhancement of livestock feed
These projects highlight how innovative clay-based solutions can address real-world environmental and agricultural challenges β from climate change mitigation to sustainable farming.
All of this groundbreaking work was carried out here at the Global Centre for Environmental Remediation and crcCARE, University of Newcastle, Australia.
Wishing You the Very Best
Siavash and Zubaer, I wish you both all the success in the world as your theses go through the assessment process. May this be just the beginning of even greater achievements in your careers.
To the entire team β thank you for your continued support and collaboration. This is what teamwork and scientific excellence look like!
Stay tuned for more updates on their publications and future projects.
